Use Claude to Turn Product Notes into a Reviewable Training Quiz
Cihan's view: Give Claude approved product notes and ask for questions that test only what the notes support. Keep the answer evidence beside each question, then send unclear items back to the product owner.
A new product note often gets turned into a slide deck before anyone checks whether the team can explain the basics. A short quiz is a useful rehearsal, as long as it tests the source rather than rewarding confident guessing.
This guide uses Claude with two fictional text files. The output is a reviewable quiz for an internal enablement session. It is not a test of employee performance, and it does not claim that Claude wrote accurate answers without review.
Evidence label: Documentation-based guide. The upload and project steps are based on Claude’s current help documentation. No Claude session was run for this article.
What you will make
You will create eight questions. Each question will include:
- A question type
- The question
- The answer supported by the notes
- A source file and short evidence quote
- A confidence label: supported, incomplete, or do not ask
The decision is whether a question is ready for a human-reviewed training session or should return to the product owner.
Prerequisites
Use Claude on a surface where file uploads are available. Claude’s help documentation says you can add files with the plus button and can place files in a project’s Files section for persistent reference. Use text files for this example and an account approved for the material.
Create these two fictional files.

Relay Clips
Relay Clips lets a marketing team save approved customer quotes in a shared library.
Supported:
- Add a quote with its source URL.
- Add a customer segment label.
- Search quotes by segment label.
- Mark a quote as approved or needs review.
Not stated:
- Export formats
- Automatic quote selection
- Customer permission workflow
- Retention period
relay-faq.txt
Relay Clips FAQ notes
Q: Can a user search by segment?
A: Yes. The notes say users can search quotes by segment label.
Q: Does Relay Clips choose quotes automatically?
A: The notes do not say this. Do not promise automatic selection.
Q: Can we publish a quote as soon as it is added?
A: No. A quote may be marked approved or needs review, but the notes do not define a publishing workflow.
Open questions:
- Who approves a quote?
- What evidence is required for customer permission?
- Can approved quotes be exported?
Three steps
1. Put the files in one bounded source set
In Claude, start a new chat and use the plus button to choose Add files or photos, then attach both text files. If you use a Claude Project, add them to the project’s Files section instead. Do not add unrelated sales material to this exercise.
Paste this prompt:
Create a short internal product training quiz from the attached files.
Use only the attached files. Do not use general product knowledge and do not invent features, permissions, owners, workflows, exports, retention periods, customer results, or deadlines.
Create exactly eight questions. Mix multiple choice, true or false, and short answer.
For every question, include:
- type
- question
- answer
- source file
- a short evidence quote
- status: supported, incomplete, or do not ask
Rules:
- Ask about a feature only when the files support it.
- If the files conflict, show the conflict and mark the question incomplete.
- If the files do not answer a question, do not turn the gap into a quiz question. Put it in a final "Questions for the product owner" list instead.
- Do not grade a learner or infer employee knowledge.
End with two sections:
1. Questions for the product owner
2. Claims that the trainer should not make
2. Check the evidence, not just the wording
Read each answer beside the two files. The first question might ask whether users can search by segment label. That is supported by both files. A question about publishing a quote should be marked incomplete because the notes mention approval status but do not define a publishing workflow.
Check the quiz against this acceptance list:
- It contains exactly eight questions.
- Every question has a type, answer, source file, quote, and status.
- The search feature is supported by the source.
- Automatic quote selection is not presented as a feature.
- Customer permission is kept as an open product-owner question.
- Export and retention gaps remain visible.
- No question asks a learner to disclose personal or confidential information.
- The trainer can remove every incomplete item before using the quiz.
3. Decide whether the quiz is ready
Keep supported questions for the session. Send incomplete items to the product owner. Do not make a learner guess the answer to a product question just because a quiz format wants one.
If you reuse the format, replace the fictional files with approved notes and keep the source quote column. That small column is the difference between a training aid and a memory contest with nicer formatting.
If the output goes wrong
Claude adds plausible product details. Ask it to quote the exact file text for the claim. If it cannot, mark the item do not ask and add the gap to the product-owner list.
Claude ignores one file. Ask it to produce a source coverage table listing each file and the questions that use it. If one file is absent, restart with only the two approved files attached.
You cannot see the Files section. Use a single chat with the two text files, or paste the content only where policy permits. Do not assume that a project feature is available on every account or surface.
Limits and decision
This workflow creates a review draft, not a validated assessment. It does not measure recall, onboarding speed, employee performance, or product adoption. Keep the material fictional or approved, and avoid using the quiz for consequential employment decisions without a separately designed process.
TRY it for a small internal enablement session with a product owner available for review.
SKIP it when the notes contain confidential information that the chosen Claude surface is not approved to receive, or when the product is changing too quickly for the source set to stay current.
USE the format after the answer quotes and unresolved questions have been checked by a human.
For a related source-grounded workflow, see Use a Claude Project to turn product notes into an escalation matrix. The next task is to have the product owner answer the open questions before the quiz becomes training material.
