This notice explains how Cihan Uygur (“I,” “me,” or “this site”) handles information when you visit cihanuygur.com, sign up for The Weekly Verdict, or contact me.

Information you provide

If you subscribe to The Weekly Verdict, the form asks for your email address and optionally your first name. If you contact me, I receive the details you choose to include in your message. I use these details to send the newsletter you requested or reply to your inquiry.

Newsletter provider

The newsletter form is provided by Kit (formerly ConvertKit). When you submit it, the information you enter is sent to Kit so I can manage your subscription and deliver the newsletter. Kit processes newsletter-subscriber data under its Data Processing Addendum. You can unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter email. Kit's form and embedded script may use cookies or similar technologies to operate.

Analytics

This site uses Umami Cloud to understand aggregate site usage. It records page views and limited interaction events, including clicks on the newsletter sign-up button. The site does not send the email address or name you enter into the newsletter form to Umami. Umami may process technical request information such as browser or device details and network information as described in its Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.

Local preferences and cookies

This site stores your light/dark theme choice in your browser's local storage. The Kit newsletter embed may use cookies or similar technologies. Your browser settings let you manage or clear local storage and cookies; blocking them may affect embedded forms or other third-party features.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Google AdSense ads are not currently displayed on this site. If advertising is enabled, Google and participating third-party vendors may place or read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers as a result of ad serving. Google's advertising cookies may allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site or other websites.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in its emails. For a question or request about information you provided through this site, Message me on Instagram. I will review the request and, where the information is held by a service provider, take the appropriate steps through that provider.
